Times- 10.00am – 4.00pm (1 hour for lunch each day)
Description-Learn the skills required to make a variety of flowers using silk organza, dupion and leather.
You will finish the weekend with 4 flowers and knowing how to make many more.
You will learn- Here is another weekend intensive workshop, this time it’s all about how to make silk flowers with and without tools.
Milliners and other design and craft practitioners have sought to replicate and improve on nature with their own designs.
In this fun class you will learn 4 flower making techniques to create 4 different flowers with and without flower tools.
You will create the following
- a classic tooled rose made of silk
- A hand rolled silk rose made of satin backed organza
- A leather wired lily made with and without flower tools.
- A posy of flowers made using specialist pressing tools
You will also gain valuable insight into the following
- selecting and preparing fabrics for your flowers
- dyeing silk to create vibrant colour combinations
- Which flower tools are most useful and where to source them
- How to make and use a sand bag for tooling your flowers
- Where to locate other flower materials
On enrolment – You will recieve a welcome email, all materials and equipment are provided. You will recieve a list of suppliers for materials and equipment for future projects.
